"Building Research Networks:
Collaborative Approaches to Rural Health Research"

Monday 3rd - Tuesday 4th November 2025, CSU Orange

The Western NSW Health Research Network is proud to announce the WHRN 2025 Research Symposium:

“Building Research Networks: Collaborative Approaches to Rural Health Research”

The 2025 Symposium offers outstanding networking opportunities as it again brings together rural healthcare  professionals, academics, researchers and policymakers to collaborate and exchange ideas and knowledge on the challenges and solutions pertaining to rural health research.

The 2025 key research streams will include:

  • Networking Strategies
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration
  • Community Engagement
  • Funding and Resource Sharing
  • Best Practices in Partnership Development
  • Sustainable Models for Research Networks

The theme for the 2025 Symposium shines a light on the need for networking and interdisciplinary collaboration to address the unique health disparities faced by rural communities. These disparities stem from geographic, socioeconomic, and cultural factors, and necessitate innovative research strategies.

Collaborative networks enable the pooling of expertise and resources across various disciplines, enhancing the quality and relevance of research initiatives. Engaging with local stakeholders and community members builds trust and ownership, essential for successful health interventions. The exploration of innovative methodologies, such as community-based participatory research, is crucial for effectively addressing the complexities of rural health. As we know, collaborative efforts are imperative for improving health outcomes in rural communities with a focus on building research networks. Together, we can ensure that rural communities receive the healthcare they deserve.

Join us at WHRN2025 on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 of November 2025 at the Charles Sturt University campus, Orange as we work towards building a brighter and healthier future for rural communities through collaborative, sustainable health research.
